DESCRIPTION:
APW - Waltham, Canadian Pacific Railway, 17J, Model 1883, 18S, 6oz coin silver A.W.C.Co. OF recase with nickel cuvette, white enamel DS dial with Canadian market 13 to 24 hour indications, SW-SS, frosted shield and beaver logo to barrel bridge, nickel damascene, s#11047132. Canadian Pacific Railway movements were produced by Waltham in Models 1883, 1892 and 1908 versions.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches with majority being to barrel bridge and to balance cock foot, oxide to regulator assembly; dial with some scattered outer chapter hls, curved perimeter fracture between 6 and 7; fine hands, minute with oxide, finish loss and some bends; case with superfluous lever-set slot showing some uneven filing indicating case is likely not the original to this mvt, case shows ample wear, a very dark (nearly black) patina throughout exterior, cuvette with profuse scratches and fine scratches from slipped past openings, three small gouges toward upper-right perimeter of rear, band with scattered dings including many located between 8 and 11, front hinge missing both end-caps, rear hinge missing portion of one end-cap; tight bow, crown shows ample wear; plastic crystal with scattered fine scratches.
